During the process of preparing the radiograph, the technician's hand gets contaminated with saliva through contact with the patient's mouth and the sensor holder. The main goal in this center is to prevent the transmission of contamination from patient to patient as well as from patient to staff and from staff to patient.
For this purpose, the following points are observed:
1- Wearing gloves during radiography
2- Disinfecting and covering the x-ray machine and work surfaces and chairs with plastic covers
3- Placing the digital sensor inside a disposable plastic protective cover that protects the sensor from contamination with saliva.
4- Using a sensor scanner containing UV light to disinfect the sensors
5- Washing and disinfecting the sensor holder after each use
